You’ve recently heard everyone talking about “juicing”, but you’re not sure what all the fuss is about. Don’t worry! That’s why we’re here! In this article, we’ll talk about it and learn more about its many benefits. Enjoy the reading!
What is Juicing?
Traditionally, juicing is the process by which we extract juice from fruits, vegetables and other plants. These days, we associate it with a healthy and balanced diet and it consists of mixing and ingesting different types of fruit and vegetable juices.
Although for many years the practice of consuming mainly juices was criticized by some doctors, today it is the basis of many diets to lose weight and is described as a recommended and healthy, as well as effective method.
It should be noted that, far from being used as a meal replacement, this method has become a dietary habit in many people, becoming a fundamental part. The consumption of fruits and vegetables is something totally necessary to enjoy a good state of health and fitness, a fact that a significant percentage of the population does not realize. Thanks to juicing, we can consume these foods in a much more comfortable and fun way thanks to the multitude of combinations that we can make.
Benefits of Juicing
Consuming fruits and vegetables in juice form will have a series of advantages over consuming them in solid form, for example:
– The juice of some vegetables has the virtue of helping to rebuild the mucous membranes of our digestive system, which can help resolve cases of gastroenteritis, colitis or other types of inflammation. The only aspect that we can consider negative is that, by drinking only the juice, we get rid of the insoluble fiber that these vegetables contain, although we benefit from the soluble fiber, which ferments thanks to the bacteria present in our digestive system, which contributes to its strengthening.
– Drinking a juice costs us much less than eating the 5 fruits and vegetables that it is recommended to consume per day, in this way we will most certainly exceed this amount, and for a long time.
– When we ingest a juice we help our digestive system to absorb a very large amount of the nutrients they contain, and much faster than if we took the same food in solid form, this reduces any kind of disturbance during digestion. This ease of absorption of nutrients is due to the fact that when we extract the juice from the fruit or vegetable, we break its fibers.
-The amount of combinations that we can create between fruits and vegetables can encourage us to consume other types, which we usually do not pay as much attention. As we are well aware, each fruit and vegetable contains a series of nutrients in greater proportion than the others and, some of them, contain nutrients unique or very rare to be found in other types, so it will be easy for us to provide our body with the amount of nutrients necessary for its proper functioning.
-Squeezed fruits and vegetables are very alkaline, which causes our digestive system to release more acids. These acids are able to dissolve much of the waste generated in the body, being expelled from our body. This is due to the fact that our body’s blood must always have the same pH level, so if we eat very alkaline foods, the body must counteract this by generating acids.
