Long hair has been the hottest hairstyle for a while now. Those beautiful and wavy lengths can instantly add a touch of glamour to any look and enables you to transform any hairstyle at will: in a high ponytail, in a hippie bun, in a bohemian braid, or even of course, loose.
The main concern is hair growth. Whether it’s because it’s just not growing, or because it’s too fragile, or because early spring inspired you to cut it, the reasons are many, but even if the hair grows by an inch a month, there are some 100% natural treatments you can use to speed up its growth.
1) Exfoliate the Scalp
Just like the facial skin, the scalp also needs to be exfoliated: excess sebum, dead cells, dandruff, all this and more affects hair regrowth. The solution? Apply a scrub once a week to remove all these impurities and purify the scalp with natural ingredients.
For this, you need coarse salt, or ground coffee, to be mixed with a little olive oil. It is applied to the root and massaged with the fingertips in circular motions for a few minutes before using the shampoo. Finish off by rinsing the shampoo with a jet of cold water, which protects the scalp and gives the hair a natural shine.
2) Cut the Ends
There is no secret to growing hair faster: you have to cut the split ends. This may seem paradoxical, but it makes perfect sense. If we constantly put off our appointment at the hairdresser, our ends will be more damaged and lengths will become brittle. Unhealthy hair does not grow as fast. Therefore, trimming the ends will allow the hair to regain all its strength and vitality and thus grow faster. Make it a habit to go to the hairdresser regularly, every 2 to 3 months to cut off a few centimeters. The more often you go to the hairdresser, the less you will have to cut since the hair will be less damaged.
3) Massage the Scalp
Scalp massage stimulates microcirculation which helps hair grow back faster. Pamper yourself twice a week for 5 to 10 minutes by massaging the entire skull with your fingertips in circular motions. Start at the neck, then proceed to the top of the head and finish at the level of the temples. The massage may be done with no product or using a mixture of revitalizing essential oils, such as pine, lemon or thyme oil. Apart from speeding up hair growth, this will also help you relax and feel better.
4) Hair Masks
Hair masks are a staple for speeding up hair growth. In fact, it lets you deeply hydrate and nourish to restore your vitality and thus grow faster. For instance, once a week you can opt for these natural recipes:
Castor oil is known for promoting hair growth. It is high in vitamin E and aids in strengthening the hair by keeping it hydrated and nourished. For easier application, mix it with another lighter oil, such as olive oil or argan oil. Then, mix one tablespoon of castor oil with 3 tablespoons of olive oil. Apply the mixture to the entire scalp and hair, massaging gently for a couple of minutes, and allow to soak in for at least 30 minutes before washing with a mild shampoo.
-Coconut Milk Mask
Coconut milk, known for its protective properties, helps repair damaged, brittle or split hair, rehydrates dry hair and promotes new growth. To do this, mix 6 tablespoons of coconut milk with 3 tablespoons of castor oil. Apply the mask to all your hair and leave it on for at least 30 minutes before rinsing it out.
